Like so many realists who are accepting of the fact that climate change is an actual thing that must be dealt with, it’s often incredibly difficult to understand the opposite side, those who have been labeled “Climate Deniers”. The evidence by way of scientific assessment or even by personal observation is overwhelmingly obvious, why is it so hard to believe that the burning of fossil fuels is negatively impacting our planet. Scouring the internet for some sort of an understanding inevitably leads to the overtly political and very partisan “Us versus Them” which typically devolves in to name calling rather than offering any real substance.
As mentioned here many times Miami and South Florida in general is ground zero for sea level rise in the US. The University of Miami has an excellent climate coverage and in particular, as it relates to politics, gives a rather in-depth examination of what drives those that doubt, it is worth a full read at University Miami Politics of Climate Change.
