The Senate has approved Scott Pruitt to head up the EPA, an agency that he has sued 13 times as the Attorney General of Oklahoma. For anyone who might have been holding out hope that our Legislators might be a little bit more enlightened, well, fat chance of that. The current administration has repeatedly threatened to dismantle the EPA and by appointing Pruitt it seems they intend to hold to their promise. Small consolation that Pruitt is in disagreement with Trump over whether or not climate change is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese to kill competition, during his confirmation hearing he said “I do not believe that climate change is a hoax” and then proceeded to give the standard party line of, “Science tells us the climate is changing and human activity in some matter impacts that change… The ability to measure and pursue the degree and the extent of that impact and what to do about it are subject to continuing debate and dialogue.” Actually there isn’t any debate, but you know, pesky facts.
