Production Of Tesla Solar Roof Tiles Kick In To High Gear

January 14, 2018 by Editorial

A little good news to start off the new year, Tesla has announced that mass production of it’s solar roof tiles is finally kicking in to high gear at its Buffalo New York manufacturing facility. The company started taking their initial deposits on installations all the way back in May. In the meantime Musk and a number of employees have had the tiles installed on their roofs as part of a pilot test program. Installation for those first customers is set to begin some time in the next few months, so maybe late spring we’ll see those deliveries. The roof tiles are hardened glass with embedded solar pv cells within and come in a couple different styles which allow them to blend in to various architectural building styles. Pretty excited to see how this all shakes out.
