The EV Charging Project (SchoolCharging.org) was an independently incorporated not for profit (501 C 3) organization established by Ken with the purpose to inform, educated and install electric vehicle charging stations at schools and other educational institutions. The project has officially been closed but all activities and responsibilities have continued on and are represented here through the Noya Fields Funds.
Cessation of the program had little to do with its relative success or failure, rather it was a decision on how best to use time, energy and resources. The educational component of the the program was thoroughly enjoyable, interacting with the various participants, partners and the communities visited. For obvious reasons we found that the infrastructure and build out component is better served by professional service contractors.
In June 2016 it was reported Norway was planning to end the sale of gas powered cars by 2025. Fast forward to the summer of 2017 The United Kingdom, France and India have also joined in on the zero emission bandwagon, with a host of other countries considering their phase out plan. in September 2017, China announced it would be creating a plan to end production and sales of gasoline cars.
Undeniably progress is picking up speed and will continue to gain traction. In the grand scheme of things the EV Charging Project had little impact on what is happening in the auto industry, but we were very happy to be a part of it, learned a lot and met some wonderful people. There is an enormous amount of work in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure that will need to be done for many many years to come. We will continue to be advocates and provide whatever help and services we can, but it is no longer a stand alone focus of our organization. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions about our decision.
