Chicago Grant For 182 Electric Vehicles And Charging Stations

October 17, 2017 by Editorial

Chicago grant for electric vehicles and charging stations

We’ve become so accustomed to the constant barrage of awful environmental news coming from the current administration it seems almost impossible to image that there is any sort of light at the end of the tunnel, or even a glimmer of hope for environmentalists. Much to our surprise to come across this latest news by way of Government Fleet, the City of Chicago has received a grant of $15.5 million from the Federal government for 182 electric vehicles and the funds to expand their electric vehicle charging infrastructure, so that’s something to be happy about.

“These investments put the city on track to attain the goal of a passenger fleet that is 25% EV by 2023. Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined over 300 mayors from around the country to commit to the Paris Agreement.”

Sound like a bit of a press release, but feel free to read the full announcement.
